No Food Policy January 15, 2010

Filed under: policies — mysmartworld @ 10:30 am

To provide a safe environment for all children attending My Smart World Learning Center, there is a No Food Policy.   My Smart World will not offer or allow any classroom snacks. This also means that on holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween and Christmas, children will not be eating any treats or food.

Due to diet preferences, no-sugar diets, gluten-free diets, harmful food dyes, heightening food allergies among children, and the Utah Health Department regulations, My Smart World has decided it is safest to omit all food from our curriculum and daily schedules.

Birthday treats are no longer allowed. Parents and children are still welcome to celebrate in the classroom by spotlighting with photos and baby pictures.  Other small items are welcome, such as stickers, crayons, party bags, etc.

Children that stay through the lunch hour are able bring their own lunches. Please remember that anything containing nuts is prohibited (this also includes peanut butter sandwiches).

Thank you for your participation and understanding in helping us create an optimal learning environment.
