Western Days October 3, 2011
We like to have “theme” days to give the kids a chance to do something different and to dress up. For Western Day we let the kids dress up like cowboys and cowgirls and also had a pony here for them to ride.

Future Policemen and Policewomen. March 1, 2011

We talked about policemen and how to stay safe. We learned that even though all strangers are not dangerous, we should never take candy from them or go with them.
February’s Here it’s time to celebrate, two great presidents, Washington and Lincoln February 28, 2011
We sang, “George Washington the Father of our Country, the First president of the Land
Abraham Lincoln the Great Emancipator, the 16th President, let’s give them a hand.”
We also learned how Betsy Ross made the first flag of our country with only 13 stars in a circle. We made our own flags and three cornered hats.
Angels Visit our School December 20, 2010
Angels at our School Sang at the annual Christmas program.
When the snow would fall and all the world was still
We’d watch with silent wonder from our window sill
Then my sister and I with, hat and coat and gloves
Would do what all children love
We made angels in the snow, angels in the snow.
From the tip of our toes to our shiny halos
We made angels in the snow.
Mom always told us to play nice.
Never hurt anyone with a snowball or some ice
Be like angels when you play
Mom would be so happy when she’d hear us say
We made angels in the snow, angels in the snow
From the tip of our toes to our shiny halos
We made angels in the snow.
Jackson Pollock October 15, 2010
The American painter Jackson Pollock is known for his experimentation in painting techniques and his abstract style. Last month, Jackson Pollock was one of the classical artists that our Level II preschoolers studied. The preschool students learned about “action painting” and practiced doing their own splatter art. Creating splatter art is a favorite for many preschoolers… “just watch out for your shoes.”
